Cleveland Sessions

Welcome to the Cleveland Sessions, a live-music concert series showcasing new music coming from the heart — and the fringes — of rock ‘n’ roll.

Music is part of Cleveland’s soul. It’s why we’re home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And it’s why the city still rocks today, with new generations of artists and clubs.

The Cleveland Sessions, a partnership between Cleveland.com, the Music Box Supper Club and oWOW, aims to play that reputation forward with video and audio recordings of special performances by bands both local and national and indie and established.

Madeline Finn is the leader of The Whiskey Hollow, a popular Cleveland alternative rock band, which has released two EPs: 2016’s X Waters (2016) and Greenhouse (2017). Finn also appeared on the current season of American Idol and reached the Top 75, which netted her a trip to Hollywood before being eliminated.  The Whiskey Hollow is Finn (vocals and guitar), Holly Camp (bass), Griffin Pereksta (guitar) and  Tom Stankiewicz (drums). The band evolved from a solo project by Finn. Finn will also continue to record solo projects.

It features the Modern Electric, a Cleveland band that has won a following with its brand of cinematic pop.

In this premiere Cleveland Sessions episode, The Modern Electric delivers a distinctive live performance, taped at the Music Box. The show also features an in-depth interview with the band about their lives, music and upcoming endeavors.

Music discovery and rediscovery is at the heart of Cleveland Sessions.  We have teamed with Cleveland.com and the Music Box to produce the series because they share that vision.

We will unveil new Cleveland Sessions episodes on a regular basis. Some will feature national acts visiting the city on tour. Others will be local artists primed for international exposure. Either way, it will be great music, delivered in the same spirit that made Cleveland the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame city.
